ABOUT TWIN SECTOR
Twin Sector is a thrilling physics-based action-adventure for the PC that
allows players free interaction with their environment. Using the advantages

story line unfolding over the course of action -- Twin Sector appeals to
core gamers worldwide.
The story of Twin Sector takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where
the remains of mankind have been put to artificial sleep in cryogenic
chambers deep under the contaminated surface of earth – until the
planet becomes habitable again. The player must take on the role of
Ashley Simms, the protagonist of Twin Sector. Suddenly awakened by
the stations security A.I. system O.S.C.A.R., players will face the imminent
extinction of all other still sleeping survivors due to an unknown failure
in the life support system. According to O.S.C.A.R., you are the
only person who was able to be woken and therefore the only individual
capable of saving mankind. Within the next ten hours,
the broken main generator of the subterranean bunker system needs to be repaired in order to reestablish the station’s functionality. But

Now that we got basic information about the game out of the way, lets take a look at our experience with Twin Sector.
History:
Ok, so today we got an exclusive glimpse into Headup games latest release Twin Sector. If you’re into puzzle/action adventure games you should definitely try this game out. Before I tried the actual game itself I downloaded the demo version and it took me an hour and a half just to get through three or four checkpoints before the demo ended. My speciality are first person shooters and action adventure games, so i thought it would be a good opportunity to look in to a puzle action adventure game.
Story:
The storyline will definitely suck you in. Set in a post apocalyptic future where the surviving members of mankind are being preserved in a cryogenic state in a bunker below the contaminated world left above. You take the form of the lead character Ashley Simms who is suddenly awakened from her cryogenic state because of an emergency power situation that threatens the lives of the remaining survivors that accompanied her in the cryogenic freeze. Even though you might be the only person that was able to be woken up you are not totally left to your lonesome. You’re awakened by the A.I. Security system named O.C.S.A.R. who is also there to help guide you and lend some helpful advice during your mission to save the base from losing power and in effect killing the surviving members of the human race.
Game play:
This game has a very unique and innovative style of game play which Headup refers to as “Physics-based action adventure” which incorporates the use of inanimate objects as well as the surrounding environments. This game keeps you guessing as to what your next move should be and trust me it’s not always spelled out for you in plain English. You will be constantly looking around for ways to solve the enigmas that this game places in front of you. If you don’t have a great deal of patience or if you get easily annoyed then I would steer away from this title, if you’re looking for a shoot ‘em up action puzzle game similar to a Tomb Raider like game then this one isn’t for you.
I must admit at times I kept trying to reach for a side arm or a melee weapon realizing that there are no weapons on this game besides the two gloves that either pull objects towards you or push the away. But even so you can have some innovative ways to toss objects at things that you may want to avoid. I don’t want to give away anymore of the storyline so you’ll have to try this title out for yourself.
So here comes the part of what I have gotten out of the game and what my opinions are about the game. I not going to lie at first this game frustrated me so much I didn’t like it but after you get use to how to use the gloves so you don’t die every time you fall it gets pretty interesting and the storyline kicks in and leaves you wanting to continue further and further into the game. I’ll also admit that I am not into many games that are puzzle based that do not incorporate any weapons into the game play. It’s hard when you see a game like this that has a good storyline great looking environments and characters and then having no fire power the cure whatever may threaten you it saddens me so.
Graphics:
Graphics of the Twin Sector arent terribly bad, it certainly feels like this game is lacking something. Being developed in 2009 Twin Sector definitely could use more creativity. Twin Sector is a level based game and well to tell you the truth it could be little more complex. Having Havok on their side could make this game much better. Shading and quality of an image are acceptable for puzle game but the cgi and animation looked very much 90s.
Sound:
The sound in game was rather expecting. The ambiance of the game levels could of been improved just a bit. At times it felt like the sounds and dialog came from previous games back in 1990s. But it could be just me. Alot of suspense adds on to the game but the sound effects don't really make any impression here. The makers tried to make this game scary and interesting to play. I don't think they have captured that with audio tracks.

Conclusion
Having said all that I think that overall Twin Sector is very well done with a great and powerful game engine and if I was a bigger fan of this genre I might have slightly different feeling towards it. But in my book I still score Twin Sector a solid 7 out of 10. I think it’s worth checking out and can be enjoyable but you really have to have patience and some good old common sense if you hope to get through this title. Considering the price tag of the game is 39.99, not too bad for a puzzle game. Good job!
