Now that we got basic information out of the way, lets take a closer look at Beta Evo.

Closer look

Beta Evo

Beta Evo

Very interesting complexion. First impression of this case was "Wow not too bad. Look at the quality of this case. And in fact the quality of the Beta Evo is above average. Even though this is a steel case it feels relatively light due to the multiple air vents. I have counted 6 vent for 120 mm fans. Beta Evo only comes with 1 120 mm fan, so don't expect fans to come with this case.

Front Shot

NZXT logo

The front of the Beta Evo is made from solid plastic and is very rugged. The Beta Evo has 4 front slots for 3.5" drives. These drive spaces are covered with stylish mesh. When installing the drive/s these should be removed. NZXT doesn't have many logos on the case. Infarct we only saw one on the upper right corner.

Front access ports

Cooling from the top

On the top of the case there are some front access ports. These ports include earphones and microphone plugs along with two usb 2.0 ports and one eSATA port. These come very handy at the lan party or even for home gaming. On the top of the case there are two big fan vents. You can install 120 mm or 140 mm fans relatively easy.

Power and reset switches

Rear of Beta Evo

The front grille looks pretty simple. It has two switches, one power and one reset switch. The Back of the Beta Evo is pretty interesting. The power supply is being put on the bottom of the case which is pretty good idea. You don't want your power supply to generate heat near your cpu or ram, ever.

Rear cooling

PCI slots

On the back of the Beta Evo there is one 120 mm fan opening for exhaust fan. Beta Evo comes with 7 PCI slots for all your cards. What i thought were cool are the thumb screws. I think its important to have easy access to the case and not needing the screwdrivers or anything like that.

Water cooling options

Additional side cooling

If you are planning to have water cooled system, Beta Evo offers rear access for the cooling tubes. This case is full of holes! Additional side vents are on the left side of the case. They would take up to 2 120 mm fans as well as the top of the case. So choose wisely your fan, you might have pretty loud case.

Components

Box of accessories

The accessories of Beta Evo are neatly packed in the box that fits right in to the hard drive bay. I loved how they attacked the hard drive mount to the box and fit it in the hard drive bays.

Cables

120mm blue fan

The front access ports wires are pretty long and neatly tied to the case. As i have mentioned earlier in the review, Beta Evo comes with only one 120 mm fan, and it is in the front of the computer. Any additional fans you would have to buy them yourself.

Screw less Rail Design

5 Internal bays

Beta Evo is featured with Screw less rail design which help being easy to insert and remove the drives and enclosures. This case also offers up to 5 internal hard drive bays. So expanding never been easier:)

Bottom Power Supply cooling

Accessories

On the bottom where the case psu supposed to be, we found the filter and four rubber vibration reducing legs. On these legs a psu would sit. This would reduce the vibration of the case. In the accessory box are various nuts, bolts and screws along with the mounting gear for the hard drives and cd/dvd drives.

Conclusion

I have really enjoyed reviewing Beta Evo and by the looks of it, it is going to be one of the great competitors in our current market. The design of this case is bases on steel frame. So the case is a little bit on the heavy side. But as we look at some of the cooling features of the Beta Evo we find more and more plusses about this case. The front access panel which helps with internal connections is a valid aid to any gamer. Front grill is very cool looking as it only has few buttons and nothing else. The ability to provide exceptioinal cooling for the internal components plays a big role in the picking the right case for the job. With making things easy to assemble and install. Beta Evo make a great case whether you are a computer enthusiast or just average user.

Some pros we found:

Great cooling design.

Power supply away from major components.

Plenty of room for hard drives and cd drives.

Stylish grille with easy access panel on the top.

Some cons we found:

On the heavy side.

Would be great if it came with more than one fan.
